Our sculptural candles are designed for decorative purposes however they can be lit as well. To ensure a safe burn for both container and sculptural candles, please follow the below precautions:
- If you want to light them please do so on an even heat resistant surface.
- It is highly advisable that you place them on a heat-proof dish/candle plate or candle stand to catch the melted wax so as to avoid any damage to your beautiful furniture.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended
- Do not burn a candle for more than 3 hours at a time
- Please burn candles out of reach of children and pets
- Do not burn your candle on or near anything that is flammable
- Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, fans and air currents
- Do not burn a candle all the way down (leave at least 0.5cm of wax at the bottom)
- It is not advisable to touch or move a burning candle however is you must do so, please be attentive and apply extreme caution.
- Never extinguish a candle with water
CONTAINER CANDLES ; WHEN BURNING FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Always trim the wick before each use 1/4'' (5mm). Trimmed wicks make for a cleaner burn with less smoky residue. A trimmed wick also helps control the height of your flame. as too big a flame may cause the candle to burn too hot.
- Burn your candles for at least 2 hours on the first use allowing the wax to melt to the edge of the glass. This is because candle wax has memory. Your candle remembers where it was burnt up to on that first burn and will only ever burn up to the point it was last extinguished. Allowing your wax meet the edge of the vessel ensures that there is no tunnelling and you get the most value out of your beautiful candle.
